A POPULAR art exhibition held at Peterborough Cathedral will draw to a close at 3pm on Sunday, 25 March.
The paintings of German artist Karola
Onken, which will be on display until this weekend, have delighted
school groups and tourists since February 29.
Called Rejoicing In The Cross, the 20 paintings are all based on the theme of Lent and Easter.
It
is the first time that the artist from Lower Saxony has shown her work
in the UK, and it came about after she joked about the possibility with
her friend Mary Phillips, who worships at the cathedral.
Mary said: “Karola was thrilled to see her work in the stunning setting.
“We’ve had a wonderful response to the paintings.” Everyone is welcome and entry is free.
